Hot Springs police and Fall River sheriffs report
HOT SPRINGS - Here is a synopsis of the calls answered by the Hot Springs city police and the Fall River County sheriff for Nov. 4 though Nov. 10.
Information is taken from the public dispatch log at the sheriffs office.
Nov. 4
A total of 19 calls were listed on the log for Nov. 4.
7:31 a.m. City unit sent to handle an election dispute between poll watchers and poll workers at the Evans.
10:36 a.m. 911 call received from the elevator phone at the Brookside. Unit sent, all was OK.
10:37 a.m. City unit responded to an address on Detroit Avenue for a vandalism complaint.
11:43 a.m. Issue of someone parked in handicapped spot across from the courthouse with no license plate or placard. Investigation showed that the person had a legitimate reason to be there.
12:36 p.m. Officer responded to a call at Fresh Start to deal with an intoxicated female. Subject taken into protective alcohol custody.
3:24 p.m. City unit responded to a residence in reference to an assault that occurred.
4:44 p.m. City units responded to an harassment complaint, in reference to a girl advising that two other girls are harassing her.
6:20 p.m. Report of a missing girl. Subject showed up short time later.
Nov. 5
A total of 10 calls were listed on the log for Nov. 5.
7:49 a.m. Bus driver reporting that a small red compact car ran through the stop sign on his bus, immediately in front of the elementary school. Notified city officer with plate number and vehicle description.
9:47 a.m. Male subject arrested on a parole board warrant and transported to Fall River County Jail to await further transport.
1:05 p.m. Sheriff advised being out at a residence on Badger Clark for a reported fire. Fire had been inadvertently lit and residents had applied water.
5:33 p.m. Game warden notified of a report of a county resident fearful of mountain lions, as some area dogs had gone missing. Reporting party is concerned over his childrens safety.
Nov. 6
A total of 20 calls were listed on the log for Nov. 6.
12:15 a.m. City officers out with a broken down vehicle on bridge by Dairy Queen.
2:21 a.m. Fire reported by Burlington Northern on two railroad ties north and west of Ardmore. Ardmore Fire Department was paged out.
5:40 a.m. Burlington Northern reporting that they have a repair unit en route to fix a broken crossing arm near Edgemont.
3:25 p.m. Male at dispatch wishing to report tools were stolen from the back of his pickup while parked in town. City officer notified.
Nov. 7
A total of 25 calls were listed on the log for Nov. 7.
6:16 a.m. City officer arrested a male for driving under a suspended license and being in possession of that license. Subject was transported to Fall River County Jail.
7:06 a.m. City officer dispatched for a suicide threat. Subject taken to the hospital.
7:03 p.m. Ambulance reporting a driver had passed them in no passing zone on Fall River Road and was weaving a bit heading into town. City officer stopped vehicle; driver said he was trying to get the snow out of his tires.
8:19 p.m. Male caller reporting hearing gunshot-like noises in Birch Avenue area.
Nov. 8
A total of 11 calls, nine of them traffic stops, were listed on the log for Nov. 8.
4:29 p.m. Male made a 911 call, reporting a little white dog running around behind the bowling alley.
Nov. 9
A total of 13 calls were listed on the log for Nov. 9.
1:15 a.m. City officers responded to a possible fight in front of the VFW.
2:05 a.m. City officer made traffic stop on Elm Street. Female arrested for DWI.
7:31 a.m. 911 call from female asking if anyone had found out who stole her car yet. Dispatch advised they have not.
7:21 p.m. Male reporting a white Grand Am at Taco Johns with a drunk driver. City officer spoke to driver; was not drunk.
9:02 p.m. City officer made a traffic stop on N 17th Street and Lincoln Avenue. Male arrested for DUI.
10:02 p.m. Female reporting a white Grand Am being driven by an unlicensed driver at Big Bats.
Nov. 10
8:29 a.m. City unit notified of a missing woman, who hasnt been seen since the previous night. Woman was later located and all was fine.
5:09 p.m. Received two calls for a car on Fall River Road driving in the wrong lane and stopping in the middle of the road. One caller called back and advised that the female driving is scared to drive at night.
