Hot Springs Police and Fall River County Sheriffs report
HOT SPRINGS - Here is a synopsis of the calls answered by the Hot Springs city police and the Fall River County sheriff for Sept. 16 through Sept 22.
Information is taken from the public dispatch log at the sheriffs office.
Sept. 16
A total of 11 calls were listed on the log for Sept. 16.
3:48 p.m. Male caller reporting a hay baler fire three miles north of Rumford on Highway 471.
4:31 p.m. Male caller reporting a pair of dirt bikes in the Albany and Baltimore area driving at excessive speeds.
Sept. 17
A total of 24 calls, including 13 traffic stops, were listed on the log for Sept. 17.
10:15 a.m. City officer responding to a call at Sonnys for a minor accident.
2:28 p.m. 911 call from male advising he had tipped his truck over on Highway 71. Deputy and tow truck dispatched.
5:53 p.m. City officer responded to a local business for a shoplifting report. Incident was settled without arrest.
7:49 p.m. Male call from Edgemont requesting assistance in getting into his house, as he was locked out. Deputy notified.
Sept. 18
A total of 20 calls were listed on the log for Sept. 18.
1:26 a.m. Report of a burglar alarm at the Stateline Casino. Deputy notified, but call was cancelled; owner reported a false alarm.
11:25 a.m. Hot Springs Fire and Police departments out with a report of smoke in trailer court across from Taco Johns. Turned out to be someone burning in a chiminea.
4:10 p.m. Female requesting an officer for a hit-and-run incident which took place the previous night at Pizza Hut parking lot.
5:49 p.m. Young girl requesting help with other girls throwing rocks at her.
7:26 p.m. Male caller reporting kids running around on the roof of The Mammoth Site.
7:35 p.m. Female caller reporting a fire on Slim Butte Road near Oelrichs.
7:39 p.m. Male caller reporting a fire north and west of Oelrichs.
Sept. 19
A total of 32 calls were listed on the log for Sept. 19.
2:38 a.m. Caller reporting seeing a flashlight in a garage corner of 23rd and Albany. City officer responded and determined it was the owner of the garage.
5:35 a.m. Deputy dispatched to area near Minnekahta Junction for a car vs. elk accident.
6:12 a.m. Rapid City PD advising of a report of a stolen vehicle with an 8-month old baby inside. Incident took place at 6 a.m., with vehicle and suspect direction of travel unknown. Notified city and county units. Subject apprehended in Rapid City short time later.
8:48 a.m. Oelrichs Ambulance paged for a fall on Railroad Street.
10:53 a.m. Female caller reporting that her husband stole her car. Officers notified, but before they could respond, vehicle was returned.
1:10 p.m. Female reporting smoke north of town. Advised caller that there was a fire in Custer State Park.
3:49 p.m. Male requesting officer to file report of two televisions stolen from a residence on Minnekahta.
6:27 p.m. Male caller requesting an ambulance to Country Club Estates with a broken arm.
7:56 p.m. Female on Germond reporting an intoxicated male walking away from town and yelling.
Sept. 20
A total of 16 calls were listed on the log for Sept. 20.
12:31 a.m. Report of a fight at The Bar.
12:48 a.m. City unit flagged down near the post office. No emergency, person just wanted a ride home.
12:57 a.m. Report of a burglary in progress in Edgemont. Deputies notified and responded, but suspect took off and deputy was unable to find perpetrator.
6:18 p.m. Male caller reporting a car parked in a handicap spot with no sticker.
7:31 p.m. Dispatch received a call of a child throwing rocks into the street. City officer responded and spoke with childs father.
8:10 p.m. Dispatch received a call from a mom that her son is home alone in Hot Springs; his friends came into the house and stole prescription medication. City units responded.
10 p.m. Received call of juveniles vandalizing buildings downtown. Officer spoke to juveniles.
Sept. 21
A total of 15 calls were listed on the log for Sept. 21.
1:13 a.m. City officer arrested female on probation violation.
1:20 p.m. Hot Springs Ambulance responded to a call west of town on Highway 18.
2:15 a.m. City officer made a traffic stop on North River Street. Female arrested for DWI.
12:22 p.m. Report of two bicycles and one scooter taken from a yard on University Avenue.
5:23 p.m. Female on Sheridan Avenue reporting a dog just bit her and is going after her neighbor.
8:48 p.m. Male caller complaining of group of young people yelling near the tennis courts at Butler Park.
Sept. 22
A total of 15 calls were listed on the log for Sept. 22.
12:38 a.m. Officers responded to a call at Big Bats, in reference to a male who entered after the business was closed. When he left, items were discovered to be missing.
9 a.m. Call from a county resident, reporting that one his horse had been attacked by a mountain lion the previous night. State trapper and game warden notified.
9:29 a.m. Female caller reporting her bank account had been hacked into. Officer notified and determined that there are e-mails being sent with Black Hills Federal Credit Union logo, requesting verification of their account. The e-mails are a scam.
10:57 a.m. Report of a stolen CD player from a vehicle at Auto Locators lot. City officer responded to take a report.
9:01 p.m. Female at the Brookside reporting a drunk male lying in the hallway.
9:25 p.m. Male caller reporting hearing gunshots in the area of the Evans.
