Hot Springs Police and Fall River County Sheriff’s report

HOT SPRINGS - Here is a synopsis of the calls answered by the Hot Springs city police and the Fall River County sheriff for July 29 through Aug. 4.

Information is taken from the public dispatch log at the sheriff’s office.

July 29

A total of 24 calls were listed on the log for July 29.

8:33 a.m. – Report of vandalism on Fifth Street.

8:39 a.m. – The Hot Springs Ambulance was paged for a call on Battle Mountain Avenue.

11:43 a.m. – Call from Fall River Hospital that they have a missing patient. City unit located the subject and returned to the hospital.

12:29 p.m. – Report from Battle Mountain BP that there is an intoxicated male, begging for money from customers. Description given to officer and she removed him.

1:46 p.m. – Call from Evans Plunge in reference to an intoxicated male bothering their customers. City officer notified, responded and advised it was the same individual as before. Officer arrested subject for disorderly conduct.

3:20 p.m. – American Legion requested two males – who aren’t allowed to be in the establishment – be removed.

4:11 p.m. – Female caller reporting an attempted break in at her residence on South Chicago which happened early this morning.

July 30

A total of 21 calls were listed on the log for July 30.

7:18 a.m. – Report from a Fall River County resident that his mailbox had been run into and knocked down during the night. There were some vehicle parts left at the scene; deputy was notified and responded to take a report.

8:44 a.m. – Information came through from Weston County in Wyoming regarding a wanted juvenile from their jurisdiction. Information passed on to Edgemont-area deputy.

10:36 a.m. – Report of vandalism on F Street in Edgemont; deputy notified and responded.

11:51 a.m. – Male at the Mammoth Site parking lot reporting his license plate was stolen off his vehicle, while it was parked there.

5:25 p.m. – Female reporting a young man going up the viaduct who may be intoxicated. City officer sent, subject was given a ride home.

7:51 p.m. – Employee at Sonny’s reporting two males who came in and attempted to use a credit card not in their name.

9:44 p.m. – Female on North Fourth Street requesting an officer drive by her house, she suspects someone may be in her yard as her dog is going crazy.

July 31

A total of 33 calls were listed on the log for July 31.

2:17 a.m. – Report of subjects sneaking around a backyard on Lincoln; officers sent.

9:16 a.m. – Report of windows at the old Schott’s Chevy Building being shot.

9:43 a.m. – Report from a resident on S 16th that her window appears to have been shot at.

1:10 p.m. – Hot Springs Ambulance responded to a call in the county; deputy assisted.

4:21 p.m. – Manager at Big Bats requesting a male be removed from the casino.

7: 11 p.m. – Female calling for a friend who was beaten up by her boyfriend, near Bison Storage. Officer sent.

7:37 p.m. – Female requesting officers at residence on Battle Mountain for her husband. He is intoxicated and is beginning to hit her. Officers sent, male arrested on assault charges.

10:38 p.m. – Employee at Big Bats requesting an intoxicated male be removed from the casino.

10:50 p.m. – Male caller reporting an intoxicated minor at Fresh Start in Edgemont, driving a pickup; deputies sent.

Aug. 1

A total of 18 calls were listed on the log for Aug. 1.

12:22 p.m. – Report of an unwanted customer at the VFW; officers sent.

1:26 a.m. – Officer made traffic stop on Highway 18. Male arrested on driver’s license violation.

2:32 a.m. – Dispatched Hot Springs Ambulance to a call on Canton Avenue; officers assisted.

9:01 a.m. – Police chief and sheriff notified of vehicle accident which had taken place the previous night and wasn’t reported. There was an injury and will be under investigation by both departments.

1:16 p.m. – Male arrested by Highway Patrol in reference to the vehicle accident.

Aug. 2

A total of 18 calls were listed on the log for Aug. 2.

2:02 a.m. – Report of a fight outside the Igloo Bar in Edgemont. Deputy responded, as did Edgemont Ambulance.

4:11 a.m. – Female reported a vehicle spinning cookies and throwing gravel in Edgemont. Deputy notified, but female called back, said driver apologized and that she did not wish to make a complaint.

7:02 p.m. – Male reporting that he had just been assaulted at a residence on Sixth Street. Officer sent.

8:43 p.m. – Female caller reporting a dune buggy with no lights and no license on Canton.

11:18 p.m. – Report of a possible drunk driver near Oelrichs; deputy dispatched.

11:30 p.m. – City officer made traffic stop on University; male arrested on traffic offenses.

Aug. 3

A total of 17 calls were listed on the log for Aug. 3.

1:13 a.m. – Caller reporting a group of kids in the pump house on Hot Brook Canyon Road; deputy sent.

1:16 a.m. – Report of a possible drunk driver on Highway 18 bypass; officers sent, negative contact with vehicle.

1:50 a.m. – Caller reporting a group of people breaking a windshield out of a car on Second Street in Edgemont; deputy and sheriff sent.

8:48 p.m. – Multiple calls of cattle out on Fall River Road near the vet clinic.

11:33 a.m. – City officer responded to River Run Trailer Court for a report of smoke. Officer advised subjects burning branches in a burn barrel.

Aug. 4

A total of 22 calls were listed on the log for Aug. 4.

9:33 a.m. – Report from female that she had lent her car to a relative and the relative had struck a cow the previous evening near the vet clinic. Accident not reported at the time; deputy notified to make contact and conduct investigation.

2:15 p.m. – Hot Springs Ambulance paged for a call at Malone’s One-Stop for male having difficulty breathing.

2:39 p.m. – Ambulance paged for a call at a residence on South Sixth Street for female who has fallen and twisted her leg.

5:34 p.m. – Female requesting to speak to an officer in reference to money being stolen from her residence on Evans.
