Police and Sheriff report
HOT SPRINGS - Here is a synopsis of the calls answered by the Hot Springs city police and the Fall River County sheriff for Feb. 5 through Feb. 11.
Information is taken from the public dispatch log at the sheriffs office.
February 5
A total of eight calls were listed on the log for Feb. 5.
12:30 a.m. City officer out with female lying in the middle of intersection of Sixth Street and S River Street. Officer gave female a ride home.
3:14 a.m. Female reported a squabble going on at 6th and Galveston. Officer sent; male arrested on simple assault, domestic violence.
11:38 a.m. Officer sent to Hot Springs High School in response to a threat.
11:39 p.m. Report of children crying in area of Radio Shack; officer responded, no children, just cats fighting.
February 6
A total of 19 calls were listed on the log for Feb. 6.
1:53 a.m. Report of an unwanted male at the Barnes Apartment; officer sent.
8:17 a.m. Report of a possible dog neglect case at a residence in the 1200 Estates area. ACO was notified and responded to check.
10:03 a.m. Deputy dispatched to a residence on Evans Street to do a keep the peace between parties.
10:39 a.m. Officer did a welfare check at a residence on Galveston Ave. When officer arrived, he found subject to be very ill and an ambulance was called. Subject transported to hospital for treatment.
11:23 a.m. Male calling to advise that he threw items away from his basement which were damaged. Concerned his ex-wife would go through the stuff to retrieve items which belonged to her, but she didnt picked up following divorce.
1:12 p.m. Report of possible dog neglect in Edgemont. Deputy and Edgemont ACO notified.
6:30 p.m. Female reported her 5-year old daughter was left home alone with a pair of four-year olds and a two-year old, in Smithwick.
February 7
A total of 20 calls were listed on the log for Feb. 7.
5:44 a.m. Report of a car which ran into a tree on Hot Brook Road; officer and deputy sent.
8:48 a.m. Bread truck driver lost bread trays at University and Chicago. City officer responded. Driver had left, but returned shortly to retrieve trays.
12:11 p.m. Edgemont ambulance paged to take call at Fresh Start for choking victim.
5:12 p.m. Female at window reporting a car parked illegally with gun sticking out of the passenger window and aimed at a group of deer near the Plunge. Officer sent, no dead deer found.
6:26 p.m. City office signed a ministerial aid slip.
9:01 p.m. Male arrested at Fall River County Jail on a Meade County warrant.
10:42 p.m. Female reporting a male walking around her place of employment, looking in the window. She is getting uncomfortable getting to her vehicle. Officer sent.
February 8
A total of 23 calls, 14 of them traffic stops, were listed on the log for Feb. 8.
12:23 a.m. Deputy made a traffic stop on Highway 18; male arrested on traffic charges.
9:38 a.m. Report from a female that her medications were stolen from her home between Feb. 6 and Feb. 8, one a controlled substance. Officer responded to take report.
10:56 a.m. Male came to jail to take care of Fall River County warrants. Subject booked in and released on bond.
12:23 p.m. Report from male at Mule Creek Junction that he had locked his keys in his vehicle. Local locksmith notified and responded.
7:18 p.m. Male requesting an officer for an assault which took place at El Rancho Trailercourt.
7:59 p.m. Female reporting what sounds like a domestic disturbance at RC Springs Apartments.
February 9
A total of 14 calls, including eight traffic stops, were listed on the log for Feb. 6.
3:55 a.m. Report of a small fire by the tennis courts at Butler Park.
1:52 p.m. Report of an upset male on South Sixth Street.
4:09 p.m. Evans Plunge requesting an ambulance.
February 10
A total of 17 calls were listed on the log for Feb. 10.
1:36 p.m. City officers found a male subject in warehouse of the American Legion. Keyholder notified and stated he would not press charges. Officers gave subject a ride home.
8:16 a.m. Male calling from Motel 6 to have a female subject removed from a customers room. Officers sent.
11:02 a.m. Male asking if it is OK to feed deer in town. Advised that it was not OK as there is now an ordinance prohibiting feeding the deer.
11:39 a.m. Male reported another male driving in a field depressed. Determined to be in Custer County, referred matter to Custer County.
2:16 p.m. Male calling as he wife is leaving him and trying to take their son out of state; officer notified.
February 11
7:09 a.m. Report of an alarm at Golden West. Officer responded, determined to be employee error.
7:53 a.m. Female calling to inform city officers to be aware she was having issues with her former husband.
8:52 a.m. Report a vehicle rollover south of Maverick Junction. One person thrown from vehicle, one trapped inside. Patients transported to local medical facilities and one was later sent to Rapid City.
11:59 a.m. Hot Springs Ambulance paged to Pamida for male who fell down a flight of stairs; city officer assisted.
